Rionne McAvoy
Rionne McAvoy (pronounced rye-own) is an independent film maker based in Tokyo, Japan. He is the founder of Sceptre Japan and coordinates and manages film and television projects, leading a group of talented individuals and moulding them into a successful team .
Raised in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, Rionne
is no stranger to the film industry, having spent time as a writer
and director for short films both in Japan and Australia.
Rionne also has experience as a production manager, promotion
manager and an event coordinator. He spent a year as a MC in 2005,
and combined with hisemployment in
Japan, this has provided him with invaluable experience dealing with
people from all backgrounds.
With his excellent communications and interpersonal skills, Rionne
brings a flexible and dynamic approach to his work. A proven ability
to be customer focused and performance driven combined with a talent
to building strong working relationships demonstrates that he is
multi skilled and effective in a range of roles.
Rionne is a qualified translator (Japanese to English) as well as a qualified stuntman, having trained in his native Australia before returning to Japan in 2006. He holds the rank of 2nd black belt in both Aikido and Tae Kwon Do, and has also done Karate. Rionne is also currently a member of Japan's premier kick boxing gym, Ihara Dojo.
